Lenten Study, Prayer and Worship
There will be several opportunities to use the weeks leading up to Easter for fellowship, reflection and deepening your journey of faith.
Mardi Gras celebration at International House of Pancakes in Buffalo Grove - February 16 at noon.
Ash Wednesday Services will be offered this year at both 7am and 7pm.
Reading Together: If the Church Were Christian by Philip Gulley. Scheduled to be released in early February, this latest book by Quaker pastor and writer Philip Gulley will be the focus for discussion during Lent. AND THEN ... on April 23 we are invited to enjoy a "night with the author" hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights. We’ll meet for discussion of this book for five Sunday evenings starting on February 21 and finishing on March 21. We’ll gather at 6:30pm in the Fireside Room.
Let Us Pray - A Four Week Experience of "Prayer Beyond Words" including Walking the Labyrinth, Prayer Beads as An Aid to Prayer, Meditating on Icons, and Centering Prayer. This will occur on Wednesday nights starting at 7:30 in Room 114. It is open to all, though required for the Confirmation Classes. Sessions are February 24, March 3, 10 & 17.
Morning Prayer every week at 7:15am on Wednesdays in the sanctuary beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 17 through Holy Week.
Midday Prayer at noon every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the sanctuary starting February 18 through Holy Week.
