Welcome to Kingswood as we continue our sermon series, The Gospel of John! Today, we find ourselves in the home of Lazarus, a very dear friend of Jesus. Lazarus’ sisters, Mary and Martha, are there to help with the meal. Jesus had recently raised Lazarus from the dead (that is a good friend for sure!), and the crowds were large. During dinner, Mary took costly perfume and anointed Jesus’ feet, wiping them with her hair. It was an extravagant act of worship and gratitude. Some were critical while others were in awe. Let us explore how dedicated we are to Jesus and his calling. Do we offer extravagant devotion to Jesus? Welcome to Kingswood!
