CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
birth-5th grade

We are deeply committed to the spiritual development of children.  We offer a variety of ways for children to grow in their love for God, their service to others, and their friendships with other children, parents, and leaders in a fun and dynamic way that is God centered, and Jesus focused.  Visitors are always welcome to join us!

BUFFALO GROVE (BG) CAMPUS...                    
Usually during our 9am service, we offer Sunday School for preschool-5th grade, as well as childcare for infants and toddlers.  (See schedule in Sunday School section below.)
Our Nursery is available for families to use together on their own during our 10:30am service.  There is also a "Kiddie Corner" directly behind our Sanctuary so that kids have some fun things to use during the service if wanted.
DEERFIELD (DF) CAMPUS...                                    
Usually during our 10am service, we offer Sunday School for preschool-5th grade.  (See schedule in Sunday School section below.)

Children are always welcome at Kingswood!!  If families prefer, children are always welcome to stay with their families for the worship services in the Sanctuary at either campus any time.  It's SO IMPORTANT for kids to learn how to be in the service.  Books and coloring activities will be available.

Sunday School

We have a great time each week in our Sunday School programs at both campuses.  
We use Grow Curriculum as well as church-wide sermon series, which offer a variety of ways for kids to learn and engage, including short video clips, games, Bible stories, and hands-on activities.
We meet kids where they're at...knowledge, experience, and energy-wise!
On occasion, we will not have Sunday School, in order to give families a chance to worship together.  Please check out the schedule on the drop-down lists below.  
It's SO IMPORTANT for kids to learn how to be in the service.  Books and coloring activities are always available for kids to use during worship.

JUNE  SUNDAY  SCHOOL
Our emotions can sometimes feel like we’re trying to tame a dragon. But God shows us how we can take control of our anger, fear and sadness, and have joy and peace in the midst of our other emotions.
Even Jesus protected His own mental health by practicing different strategies that can serve as an example to us today.  (More on that in August!!)

SNL outline includes:
5:00-5:40= Dinner

SUNDAY  NIGHT  LIVE  (SNL)
We love our SNL time together with 3rd through 5th graders.  We gather for dinner, fellowship, and fun once or twice a month on Sunday evenings from 5pm-7pm.  $3 per evening.*    

Friends are ALWAYS welcome!

VACATION  BIBLE  SCHOOL
Every great movie tells a great story. When we see those stories played out on the big screen, we can learn a little more about ourselves and the world around us. Jesus knew how powerful stories could be, and He made them a big part of how He taught His followers. Kids will hear some of the stories Jesus shared that can help them see the big picture of a life spent following God. Kids will see that God helps us know what's true, the ways we can give back to God, how God sends us helpers, that God gives us second chances, and how we belong in God's family.

MUSIC FOR KINGSWOOD KIDS @ the Buffalo Grove campus...
Children's Chimes and Xylophones (preK-5th grade) and Youth Praise Band (4th-12th grade) wrapped up their 2024-2025 school year on May 4 for Music Ministry Celebration Sunday.  
  • Both groups will take a pause over the summer, but if you're interested in doing summer music performances on your own, contact Miss Felicia.

Service  Opportunities  to  Help  Others

Our Kingswood Kids collected books during our Summer 2024 Book Club and donated them to Dr. Rebecca at Reynolds' Provisions for a school in Kenya.
See what other ways you can support this great organization that is doing good works to help fill individualized needs of educational programs for communities around the world.
Join Kilmer School in District 21 and the Village of Wheeling to help families of children receiving treatment/services within the Lurie Children's Hospital. We are collecting all types of tabs in Sunday School to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities!

Did you know that Gratitude Generation is a local nonprofit organization that is making generational waves?! And...they are housed in our Deerfield site campus at 815 Rosemary Terrace in Deerfield, IL.
They do a tremendous amount of compassionate work in our community, for others, teaching the next generation of children and families how to serve. We've been thrilled to partner with them at events we've held, and we support their mission to support neighbors in need while building a new generation of service-minded leaders.
