Children's and Youth Ministry Volunteers

Whether you're teaching kids and youth in Sunday School, leading art at VBS, cooking dinner for Sunday Night Live (SNL), mentoring in Confirmation, attending a youth retreat, or coordinating our Christmas Eve Pageant...Kingswood Kids and Youth need YOU!!

The most valuable resource we have to help kids and youth see God, is to be the people in the church who show Him. We're supposed to do what Jesus did...show up in the lives of others so they can see God. Volunteers invested in the lives of kids and youth, is one of the most important things we can be.

Leaders who connect with kids and youth in a SMALL group over time, have the potential to make a BIG impact on their faith.

Mandatory Safe Sanctuaries Training

God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons. God calls us to create communities of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong. Safe Sanctuaries is the movement and initiative to fulfill this call upon us.

Every volunteer must be Safe Sanctuaries trained in order to work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.  
Our Safe Sanctuaries policy at Kingswood requires each volunteer to...
  1. Complete the Children, Youth, Vulnerable Adults Worker Application
  2. Complete the Safe Gatherings Training
  3. Review Kingswood's Safe Sanctuaries Plan

WHAT  VOLUNTEER  OPPORTUNITIES  ARE  THERE?

Volunteers always work in pairs of Adult Volunteers, and sometimes with Youth Helpers.  
Every volunteer space is flexible whether it be to plan and prepare something, or show up the day of the event to support kids and youth.

NURSERY--Babies through Preschoolers
  • Nursery during BG's 9am Sunday service
  • Nursery Vacation Bible School group
  • Teach at Parents Day Out weekly program
Kindergarten through 5th Grade
  • Sunday School during BG's 9am Sunday service
  • Sunday School during DF's 10am Sunday service
  • Dinner Team for Sunday Night Live (SNL) or Vacation Bible School (VBS)
  • SNL for 3rd-5th graders on Sunday evenings
    • September-April
  • VBS station leader or group leader of campers
    • 4 evenings in June
  • Parents' Night Out leader or planner
    • 1 evening in February
Middle (6th-8th) and High (9th-12th) Schoolers
  • Sunday School during BG's 9am Sunday service
  • SNL for middle & high schoolers on Sunday evenings
    • September-April
  • Confirmation teacher or mentor
  • Fall Retreat weekend chaperone or planner
  • Summer Mission Trip chaperone or planner

  • Timing: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class begins (8:45 @ BG and 9:45 @ DF) to pray as a group and review the plans together.
