Join the WeedFolk Team

Do you love gardening and enjoy seeing the flowers starting to bloom around the building. Then please consider joining the WeedFolk team. The area around the Buffalo Grove campus has been divided into areas and each area needs a volunteer carer. Each volunteer can set their own schedule. Some members have already agreed to continue caring for an area they adopted in prior years, and for them we give thanks. Other areas are still in need of adoption. Interested in helping at Buffalo Grove please contact Sue Entwistle at (224-612-2967, entwist@aol.com) or see me between services. An aerial photo of church showing the various areas will be on display in the Fireside room, starting Sunday April 27th along with a sign-up sheet.
Let’s keep the grounds looking beautiful and inviting.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry at the Buffalo Grove campus provides food on an emergency basis to families and individuals from Wheeling Township, which includes surrounding suburbs.  Through the generous donations of food items from Kingswood and other community members, we are able to serve 40-60 families each week.

PADS Homeless Ministry

PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) is a serving ministry of Kingswood Church, seeking to provide temporary shelter, meals, and support for our brothers and sisters without homes and housing.  We have opportunities to serve in both Buffalo Grove and Deerfield.

Thrift Store Accepting Donations

New Beginnings Thrift Store is an on-site shop next door to Kingswood at Manna House on the Buffalo Grove campus.  The store offers low-cost items to community members in need.  If you are doing some spring cleaning, consider donating items. We accept most donations as long as they are clean and in good condition. We do not accept florist vases, glassware, clothes, shoes/boots, books, or large furniture. Donations at Buffalo Grove can be placed in the bin in the cove near the coat racks. Donations at Deerfield can be placed in the labeled bin across from the sanctuary. You may also donate during regular thrift store hours from 9:15 am to 12 pm on Thursdays.
