Lent and Easter at Kingswood

Easter is a sacred season of hope, renewal, and new life, and Lent is the season leading up to it—a time to reflect, prepare, and grow closer to God. 
You are warmly invited to journey with us at Kingswood Church through both Lent and Easter. Whether you join us for worship, special events, Lenten reflections, or simply reach out for prayer or connection, there is a place for you here. As we move through Lent toward the joy of Easter, we invite you to come as you are and participate in all that God is doing among us.

Moms' Lenten Bible Study

Hey Moms!  Join us five Monday mornings in February and March to talk through the Gospel of John during this Lent season.  We'll follow along with the sermon series but will use video clips from The Chosen to enhance our discussion.  No prep needed...just come as you are!  Need childcare?  Let Jenn know (jsawyer@kingswoodumc.com) and we'll work it out.

Holy Thursday Service

Join us for Holy (Maundy) Thursday as we gather for a simple light dinner and an interactive worship experience. Together we’ll remember Jesus’ command to love one another and reflect on the meaning of the Last Supper in a meaningful, hands-on way.

Join us for Good Friday services as we remember the depth of Christ’s love and sacrifice. At our Buffalo Grove campus, the 7:00 pm service will feature a powerful dramatic reading of the passion story and Stations of the Cross, inviting us to reflect deeply as we prepare for Easter.

Easter Event at Jewett Park

Come celebrate Easter with us a day early at Jewett Park! We have a fun-filled morning planned for everyone, including an Easter egg hunt, creative crafts, and a meaningful service project. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors! We can’t wait to celebrate together.

Youth-led Easter Eve Service

Join us on Easter Saturday for a meaningful, youth-led service offering a contemporary look at the Easter story. This service is written and shared by the Kingswood Youth Group, bringing fresh perspective, creativity, and hope as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection together.

The 2026 Lenten offering benefits Solar Oven Partners. Solar ovens don’t just cook food; Solar ovens change lives and communities. Solar Oven Partners focuses on cooking up the conditions for well-being in the Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, and the northwestern lands of the Navajo Nation. By partnering with us as a volunteer or donor, you’ll help to change lives and increase well-being in communities where we work now and wherever God and people may invite us to go as Solar Oven Partners.
